We have provided an earlier email regarding payments to the IRS and payments made by the federal government to taxpayers. During January 2026, the IRS updated their summary of these rules in a question-and-answer format.
Although the document is seven pages, we believe it will have sufficient interest for many of you to read it. It is written in a question-and-answer presentation using non-technical terms making it readily understandable. The document presents the current rules for cash payments and outlines future plans for those payments. See page two of the document for a table of contents which will allow each reader to identify the sections that will impact themselves. The first three topics will be of interest to many.
- Individual Refunds and Disbursement
- Payments to the IRS
- Business Payments and Disbursements
